I am a natural light photographer, which means I shoot with available sunlight. Mornings and early evenings are the "golden hours", and are therefore best for outdoor sessions. But, even if it's cloudy, don't worry... overcast skies can produce great light as well!
What to wear: Keep clothing simple, avoid white, and stay away from any clothing with written logos. Favorites are layered outfits, bare feet, and babies in their birthday suits! If there is more than one child, outfits can be similar, but it's not necessary to have them matching.
Preparation: Make sure everyone is well rested, and well fed. Relax and enjoy! Children can sense stressful energy and often react against it. If a child is not feeling well, it's better to reschedule. A session can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. If the plan is to meet at a park, then make sure to bring snacks, a drink, outfit change, and even wet wipes!
I have a true passion and love of photographing precious newborns. It is an honor to be able to capture these early days of life for my clients. Thank you! I take great pride in every image and all the little details that make them so perfect.
When to schedule:
Please contact me early in your pregnancy so I can hold you a spot in the month you are due. Once your baby arrives, email or call from the hospital or shortly after you arrive home so we can schedule a time within the first 2 weeks. Sessions are best when baby is just 5-10 days new!
It’s not uncommon for the session with a newborn to last 3-4 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding and comfort.
